Watch Your Step
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way." (Psalms 37:23)
"For whom he did forknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29)
In the body of Christ, there is a lot being said about destiny. According to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary, one definition of destiny is as follows: a predetermined course of events. Surely, the people of God have a destiny. Romans 8:29 lets us know that God has a predetermined plan for our lives. However, the word of God also tells us that our steps are ordered by the Lord.
To many, if not all, destinations, there is more than one route. For example, you can reach many cities by different highways. In Charlotte, North Carolina (where we are located), there is Interstate 77, Interstate 85, and other smaller highways that provide passage into and out of the area. You are free to travel either one for entrance into the destination of Charlotte, North Carolina. However, if you are following the path of ordered steps, then there is likely one specified highway for you. The word not only says that our destination is ordered , but our steps. That indicates that there is a God-ordained route that leads to your destiny. We are not free to travel any way that we want, although there are different ways available. Therefore, do not get so focused on your destiny that you fail to watch your step.
